Vurl Evidence Badge

Aprašymas

The Vurl Evidence Badge puts a small, unobtrusive button on your site. A reader
who clicks it gets a short menu of tools for the page they are on:

  • Check a claim
  • Audit this page’s citations
  • Create a citation
  • Learn how Vurl works

That is the whole feature. No account, no dashboard, no tracking.

What this badge is not

This plugin does not display a trust mark, a seal, or a score. It will never
say „Vurl Verified”, „Factually verified”, „Trusted by Vurl”, „Accuracy
certified”, or anything similar, because Vurl does not produce such a judgement.

Every panel the badge opens carries this line:

Vurl shows what cited sources say. It does not certify this publisher or
determine whether every statement is true.

Vurl reads a page and reports what it says about a specific claim. That is
evidence a reader can check. It is not a verdict on a publisher, and this plugin
will not present it as one.

Privacy

This plugin collects nothing.

  • It stores one option row containing your badge settings. Nothing else.
  • It reads no WordPress user data, no post content and no visitor data.
  • It sets no cookies and uses no local storage.
  • It sends no analytics, no referrer and no page information automatically.

The badge script is bundled inside the plugin and loaded locally. It makes
no network request until a reader opens the badge. When a reader
chooses a tool, the address of the page they are on is included in the link they
followed, so that Vurl can act on that page. That is the only time any
information about your page leaves the reader’s browser.

If you list evidence passport IDs in the settings, the badge fetches a public
summary of those passports from Vurl when a reader opens the panel. That request
carries no cookies and no referrer.

Third-party service

This plugin depends on Vurl, a service operated by m2Dev LLC.

  • Service: https://vurl.ai
  • Badge documentation: https://vurl.ai/webmasters
  • Terms of use: https://vurl.ai/terms
  • Privacy policy: https://vurl.ai/privacy

DUK

Does this certify my website?

No, and it never will. Vurl reports what a cited page says about a specific
claim. It does not assess publishers, and this plugin does not display any mark
that implies it does.

Will it slow my site down?

The script is around 20 KB uncompressed, has no dependencies, loads
asynchronously, and is cached. After that download, it makes no additional request until a reader opens
the badge.

Will it cover my cookie banner?

It is placed below the top of the stacking order so a banner can sit above it,
and there is a Lift above other UI setting to move it up by a number of
pixels if you need to.

Does it work with a Content Security Policy?

If your site sends a CSP, allow https://vurl.ai in script-src, and
https://vurl.ai in connect-src if you list evidence passports. The badge
styles itself inside a shadow root using CSSOM, which is not subject to
style-src.

Can I place it inside my content instead of a corner?

Set placement to Inline. The badge renders where the script tag loads.

What happens when I delete the plugin?

The single option row it created is deleted. It leaves nothing behind.
