Aprašymas

Its narrow purpose is to read existing data left by the discontinued Free plugin “WP Logo Showcase Responsive Slider and Carousel” and provide safe [logoshowcase] rendering when no active component owns that shortcode.

Logo Rescue reads legacy content in place. It does not copy or migrate legacy posts, terms, metadata, or attachments. The legacy plugin should not need to execute for Logo Rescue to read the remaining WordPress data.

This version uses complete responsive fallback content and progressively enhances it into an accessible carousel. It does not guarantee compatibility with Pro-only features or data. Logo Rescue does not detect, remove, or clean malware and must not be used as a malware-remediation tool.

Verified Free 3.8.3 shortcode semantics include date-ascending default order, term-ID filtering through cat_id, heading-only cat_name, legacy blank/self link targets, and limit=”-1″ subject to a 500-record defensive ceiling. Legacy Slick lazy-load values use native image lazy loading. Carousel output uses independent CSS scroll snap and vanilla JavaScript rather than copied Slick code.

The read-only Tools > Logo Rescue dashboard explains rescue readiness, reports missing images and unusable destinations, previews compatible output, and lists conventional published shortcode locations it can confidently detect. It does not migrate or modify legacy content.

Logo Rescue sends no data externally, uses no telemetry, creates no account, stores no tracking cookies, and requires no external service.

Logo Rescue is an independent compatibility plugin. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the original plugin developer or by the WordPress project.

Diegimas

  1. Install the plugin directory in /wp-content/plugins/lifeboat-logo-rescue/.
  2. Ensure the discontinued legacy plugin is inactive.
  3. Activate Logo Rescue.
  4. Review Tools > Logo Rescue before testing existing [logoshowcase] content.

If another component owns [logoshowcase], Logo Rescue reports a conflict and does not take over the shortcode.

DUK

Does this migrate legacy data?

No. Logo Rescue is strictly read-only and reads legacy data in place.

Does this reproduce the old carousel?

It preserves the main Free 3.8.3 intent with a modern CSS scroll-snap and vanilla-JavaScript carousel: responsive visible counts, arrows, dots, autoplay, interval, finite/logical-loop navigation, RTL, image containment, and independent instances. It does not copy Slick or promise pixel identity. Without JavaScript, all logos remain visible as responsive content.

Does this support the legacy Pro plugin?

There is no Pro compatibility guarantee.

Does this clean a compromised site?

No. It does not provide malware detection or remediation.

Does Logo Rescue send data to an external service?

No. Logo Rescue has no telemetry, account, tracking cookie, cloud service, or external-service requirement.
